Gone too far with cards. Needs to be a type of black card now. 20 minutes off and forced sub.

You see the six nations games decided by cards.

Leinster didn't fare so well when Glasgow had a red last week.

Interesting to see if they'll be more times in this week.

That's a very harsh red card.

Guarantee that's not the last card in the game either

I hope the 20 minute replacement for a red card rule they're trialling in Super Rugby AU is adopted more broadly.

The number of games ruined by red cards these days is ridiculous.

    Coetzee's hamstring is gone.

Could be his last appearance for Ulster.

Slow motion has taken context out of these situations, for both JOBs yellow and the red. Incredibly harsh decisions

    I dunno.

Bit surprised by some of the cards here but any contact above the chest could now be a red effectively.

Except if you’re Devin Toner. Or Jimmy OBrien.

Yellow or red it’s idiotic from Warwick.

    Australia has that this year

An armchair tackle and an elbow to the face aren't really much of an equivalence.

I'd have had a penalty for Toner and a yellow for Warwick.

Definitely agree with others - can't ruin games because of individual mistakes. Need a card between yellow and red. Red should be for someone doing something intentional.

That should be another yellow for Ulster too.

The tackler didn't roll away or release and prevented quick ball on the try line.

Yellow or red it’s idiotic from Warwick.

If Ed Byrne had have tackled the way he's supposed to ie bend over low, then it would have been a fend

However ed goes high, the fend ends up high and its a red card.

No injury, none hurt, no "strike" to the head, but game unequal now.

Sooner they bring in 20 minute replacements the better to at least counter act some of these harsh cards

    What a tackle on JOB

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,667 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Stockdale is blessed there.

Clear cut yellow that Murphy has ignored.

And Dave kearney came in and completely sealed off....

Theres illegality in nearly every phase

This game is just ridiculous now.

Great tackle but Stockdale very lucky to get away with not releasing

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Murphy telling Madigan it would have been a card for him if Leinster hadn't scored. Shouldn't get away with a professional foul just cause you conceded.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,667 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Ulster will get a score before the end of the half.

Leinster had a player going off his feet in from the side the breakdown immediately before...

Head to head contact is a red card. Except if you’re Leinster.

Red card was identical to Delahunt's one against Munster a few months ago. Think that was Frank too. At least he's consistent.

Ref counting cards in his head there and saw the try scored so no card.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

That red was farcical given O'Brien was let off earlier. No consistency whatsoever. Ulster can feel very hard done by with that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

McCloskey looked to lead with and elbow/forearm to McGrath's neck there.

I thought it was harsh enough to be honest a yellow was probably enough but I think Frank was going yellow until TMO and assistant both suggested it was more

There was head to head earlier today in zebre v Glasgow and it wasn't even a penalty.

Too much of these decisions are subjective and don't take the actual incident into account

The only solution to this bull**** is no more IRFU referees in interpros.

I for one am tired of being fcuked red raw by this crowd of pretenders.

Did Toner not knock it on by dropping the ball coming out of the ruck in the build up to the third try?
