PE involvement = expect prices to ratchet, offers to reduce and so on. They are only interested in getting profit out and at a much more aggressive level than a "normal" business operator.

They are already shocking for sales calls, if ever they get their mitts on a number for you.

I currently use my heritage for my family tree but mostly because when I started out I wanted to use/access a tree my cousin already set up there. If the info here is correct and cost would increase etc, I would move site. What would people recommend? Thanks

Well, it's premature to say costs will increase. If you're not near your renewal date, I would do nothing yet.

We have some other threads on collaborative trees if you do a search. I mostly use Ancestry for my online tree but I heard good things about Wikitree, which has the benefit of being free.
