    Hi,

So I signed up for Vodafone home phone, TV and broadband last week and the installation is supposed to happen next Monday. They said to me that they would post the modem but it has not arrived.

Can anyone who had this service installed tell me if the engineer brings the modem and the TV box with them on the day or should I be worried that I have not received anything in the post? So far, not I am not having a great experience with Vodafone. Their web chat is useless (keep telling me to call the customer service who are equally as useless).

    Any advice ?

If there is an engineer coming out to install the engineer will most likely bring a modem with them for the install. Did you sign up for Fibre to the Home or broadband over a copper phone wire line?

If its fibre then the engineer will bring the modem.....although I remember in the paperwork somewhere it said it would be posted so I called and was told engineer would have it.

Signed up for fibre (which I already have with Eir). I explained this to them but they still said they would send an engineer. So hopefully they will have it on Monday for me.

I recently changed from Eir FTTH to Vodafone. It`s been an absolute nightmare. The Engineer arrived and changed the ONT fitted the modem and the Vodafone broadband was up and running. The problem is that Vodafone never ported my phone number over. I was promised at the time of installation that there would be no disruption of service. The engineer left the original ONT behind so I plugged it back in the fibre to discover that the Eir service was still active and could use my phone line on the original Eir service. I have rung Vodafone numerous times and repeatedly told that the service would be up and running in the next 24 hours. Since the Eir service hasn't been ceased I will get a bill off them also.

I had problems trying to get my parents switched from EIR to Vodafone which you can read about Here. Cancelled appointment "engineer couldn't find house !) elderly parents left without BB for 4 days and landline for 7 !!... Make sure you follow up and complain. I got a €50 credit promised to me for the inconvenience. Never showed on bill and had to chase them for that as well !!. Once up and running its great ...but not to lay the blame 100% on VF I think EIR are not the greatest on porting numbers to other companies

Similar experience here so far. TV and broadband worked straight away but the phone has not come back (4 days later). I can make outgoing calls which appear to come from a 076 number but cannot receive any incoming calls. I have been on the phone five times to Vodafone already and always given false promises. I hope this will be resolved soon as the broadband and TV service has been good so far.

I have free Vodafone phone and broadband for a year over all the problems I’ve had with them.
Took them months to port over and left me with no phone for a month.
Hours on the phone to Cairo fixed nothing, eventually a combination of Conor Pope and COMREG got the matter resolved.
A word of advice, you have to hassle COMREG and threaten escalation before they get serious.

The install engineer left the original ONT behind. I plugged it into the fibre and used the Eir Modem about a week after he left and the phone was still working through Eir. It`s over two weeks now the phone service is gone from Eir but not up and running on the Vodafone service. Each time I ring Vodafone they keep telling me it will be 2 -5 working days to get it up and running.

A week today the engineer came. Still no phone service. I keep getting the same answer from them when I ring. People complain about Eir but I NEVER had to ring them regarding anything. Seriously regretting the decision to move. Also cannot log in to the Vodafone Anywhere TV app. It keeps telling me my credentials are incorrect. So frustrating.

I have ordered Vodafone broadband to my parent's home. It's to be installed next Monday.

He has an Eir landline phone. Will that be affected at all?

I had Vodafone broadband, TV and phone installed on March 1st. TV and Broadband worked straight away. Ten days later, I still cannot receive incoming calls and all my outgoing calls show as an 076 number instead of my old number. Numerous phone calls to Vodafone and the answer I keep getting is that the order is still "open".

The TV and broadband are really good. Broadband is faster than Eir (even though I never really had a problem with them). Be prepared to wait for the landline to come back is all I can say about my experience with Vodafone so far.

It's only broadband I ordered. There is currently no broadband in the house. Tv is staying with virgin and phone is with eir. Because the broadband is connected by eir, I'm asking will it affect the phone.

Over two weeks later, still no landline. Does anyone know if they will help with home phone in a Vodafone store? I am so fed up with their useless call centre.

No they won’t. Ring the call centre again ( I know) and ask for a complaint number.
Then contact COMREG with that number. Note that COMREG can be pretty useless too so keep after them, it’s only when I threatened to complain COMREG that things got moving, oh and Conor Pope.

You have to wait 10 working days after lodging a complaint before comreg will deal with you.
Everytime I have used comreg, I have found them excellent. VF high level will always ring to sort out the problem.

I have waited, I know the procedure.

Your suggestion above says to get a complain and then ring comreg. Maybe you should edit and include the 10 day time?

Anyone had a engineer out to change the current install of the Fibre, any issues with them being up ladders etc?

After six weeks my phone is still not working. Made a complaint to Comreg and waited for 10 working days. Comreg is on the case now hopefully they can resolve the issue.

I have had installation cancelled 6 times, each time for the same reason. It has been escalated but still the same error. Vodafone send an appointment to Eir. Then Eir have to cancel it because it is coded/listed for the wrong exchange so installers in a different part of the country receive the appointment on their list.

I have lost hours of my life and still the polite, apologetic vodafone representatives and the manager I spoke to don't seem to know what to do.

They won’t, at least not for months.

Conor Pope is your only man for Vodafone! He sorted me out three times over 10 years - the only reason that I stayed with Vodafone was because we had a (accidentally from Vodafone's perspective) brilliant deal with them for 2 separate phonelines into the house. But their billing system couldn't cope with the deal! However, last March I decided I couldn't stick them any longer and changed.

As well as contacting Conor Pope, I also emailed or hand-delivered letters for CEO and Head of Customer Services to their Dublin HQ, reminding them that Conor Pope had already solved problems for me and that I had contacted him again. The reaction the next day used to make me laugh - the Vodafone person (not a Call Centre person) was obviously told not to admit that they had been contacted 'by above' but had all the details and the solutions to hand.

Conor Pope's resolution happened within 24 hours on each occasion!

The difficulty with Comreg was that the Complaint No. had to be issued by a Manager/Supervisor in Vodafone 'who would ring me within 24/48 hours' - that call used never come.

Finally got my phone working after almost seven weeks. Comreg got onto Vodafone and they resolved the issue.

does the vodafone engineer bring the modem?

I have an engineer Coming to install vodafone broadband tomorrow....but the modem hasn’t come in the post yet which is what I was told?

Im fairly sure the engineer brought the modem and the TV box for vodafone TV. This was for Fibre to the home. W

When I got standard ADSL the modem came separately..
