I am after a 36 hole rear hub, 130 mm or 135 mm OLN

    I would ideally be looking for a 7700, 7800, 7900 or 9000 rear hub or an older XT or XTR hub (M950, M960, M970, M750 or M760)

If it's a Shimano hub, it must be manufactured in Japan

There are other brands that would interest me but I don't want a Hope unit

If the hub is part of a wheel that would also be of interest as I can disassemble it no problem

    Just curious regarding the above?

It is my opinion that the Shimano hubs manufactured in Japan were just a better product than the units manufactured in Malaysia, China and Singapore. I have an XT M760 rear hub for over 10 years and has brought me around Europe carrying myself and a bike weighing over 50kg on multiple occasions. The hub must have close to 30,000 km on it by now and has never skipped a beat with both bearing races looking like new. I purchased that hub second hand I might add! I then purchased an M770 and M785 in the years since but the freehub ratchet springs went in both hubs after less than 3,000 km. I know they changed the design to an aluminium axle from the steel axle but I know someone with an M975 rear hub that also has an aluminium axle and a titanium freehub body and that has been faultless. I purchased an original 1994 Dawes Galaxy approximately 8 years ago and was equipped with old Shimano STX RC. The bike had been ridden a lot as could be seen but the hubs were smooth as glass! Old STX RC was well down the pecking order on the Shimano hierarchy but everything was still manufactured in Japan. Shimano have stopped manufacturing the Dura Ace hubs and the latest XTR units are now manufactured in Malaysia so we are now living in a bygone era in my opinion. So anyway, if anyone has a hub as described above just let me know.

If you're stuck I've a new old stock in box FH M475 36 hole black, sadly has Malaysia on the box, I know where you're coming from with Japan 1st for quality.

Thanks for the offer but I was hoping for something without D/B compatibility and higher up the Shimano hierarchy. Thanks again for the offer.
