Boiler issue

    Hi all

    I'll start by saying I'm not planning on doing any DIY here - getting a registered gas installer.

    Boiler went the other day. It is a system boiler. I just noticed now that the immersion is not heating the water now. Could that be connected to the fact that the boiler is gone or not? Cylinder upstairs was only replaced 3years ago so would be disappointed if there is a separate issue there already

    I’d say 2 separate issues
    Check that the high limit stat hasn’t activated on your immersion

    Thank you. I have no idea what that means though, I'm sorry. I am useless

    I called my dad and he told me about the reset button. I hit that but the button popped off twice more (both times when immersion was on) so I called a plumber. He gets here tomorrow so I will know more then. He thinks from my description that the immersion needs to be replaced, which is annoying as we only had that cylinder replaced less than 3yrs ago.

    Post number 11 shows an image of high limit stat

    If it keeps tripping then either

    1 Turn your gas/oil central heating down

    2Turn thermostat down on your immersion

    3 Replace the thermostat on your immersion
