Ulster Bank withdrawal is foretaste of Ireland under SF

Ulster Bank withdrawal gives us a nice foretaste into the state of the country under SF and their Marxist alliance.

Left populist politics has utterly ruined the Irish banking sector by making it uncompetitive and unprofitable. Making it impossible for the banks to repocess a home in arrears sounds great, given our historical fear of being "thrown out on the street", but the consequences of that are increased costs, interest rates and ultimately banks fleeing the country. At the end of the day the left narrative basically allows people to steal a home which the bank still legally owns.

Expand this out to the wider economy under SF. Next they'll be saying the tech companies should pay more taxes. Lovely left populist soundbite. See how long they stick around.

It wasn't always like this, the country had a much more pro-business mindset in the 90's with the PD's keeping an eye on FF. That seems to have gone to the dogs by a young generation brainwashing into thinking the government should give them a free gaf paid for by someone else.

It certainly doesn't bode well for banking competition in this country.
We are already paying the 2nd highest mortgage rates in Europe; possible for some of the reasons in the OP, so with one less major bank, we will probably come first again ...... for all the wrong reasons.
It always ends up with the working and contributing members of our society picking up the tab.
