    Hi all,

Quick question. We're getting married this year. We signed our contract with our venue (hotel) a year ago just before Covid locked everything down. Our wedding is this Summer and our venue is basically changing things on our contract, taking back rooms, hiking up agreed room rates and removing certain perks that we got with our package. They also tried to get us to cancel our date and rebook, despite us being happy with a smaller number.

Is this legal and do we need to worry. I cant see how this could be legal. We both signed a written contract with the hotel. We are shocked and devastated. We have a prime summer date and its very obvious, they are trying to resell our date at a higher price and to people stay-cationing.

Any advice from a legal mind would help. We are beside ourselves here. Sick of postponing, and sick of all the deposits we have lost already.

I am not in the legal profession and this is not legal advice . If I were you I would look up Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 and look up consumer rights https://www.ccpc.ie/

Wait until Government announce what will be allowed in summer
