    Hi folks,

Just looking for some info from anyone who has demolished an old house themselves. Did you rent the digger and if so what size?

Its part of my planning that I must demolish an old house before I build the new one. Also just wondering is there any surveys (asbestos) that legally need to be done beforehand or can we just Crack on with demolition after we have stipped the house.

I don’t want to sound harsh but if you need to ask the question on boards before you start then you shouldn’t go near it. A good man on a digger will save you a lot of money, the wrong lad will cost you thousands.

If you want to have fun with big boys toys a Case cx 350 would be my weapon of choice but if you wanted to save time and money a good lad on a Hitachi ex135 would have it reduced to a driveway by the time you figure out what lever does what.
