Too small for me, so come get yourself some proper vintage fun, with a world-beating Irish connection!

    52 ctc seat tube.

54ctc top tube (or crossbar if you're as old as me!).
Anodising on the tubes has been polished to a mirror finish by someone during its lifetime.
All lugs and joints in good order.
Comes with a correct fitting seatpost and headset.

Stick a set of KAS/Vitus/Mavic decals on it (available from ebay seller 'dizzibird' whose decals I've used on a few vintage projects) and relive the glory days when Sean Kelly rode these frames and ruled the pro peloton.

€200, or if you'd like to haggle...250

That's an unusual frame. Are the tubes bonded together or something I don't see any obvious braizing or weld.

Tubes are bonded into cast lugs. Vitus did this first with aluminium tubes and later with carbon tubes.

Very similar to what the Athertons are doing with their MTB, bonding the carbon tubes into 3d printed lugs.

Lovely frame, i'm going to assume too small as I've enough to be playing with :D

it's a lovely frame but i wonder how much you'd need to spend on parts to do it justice?

A cheeky, but not unreasonable, offer.

Meet me halfway at 175 and you shall become part of Irish cycling history.

I'm in the middle of Co Waterford, by the way...I probably should have mentioned that in the first post.

Completely unrelated, but I like your workbench. Home or work?

I was only discussing this with a friend, earlier; there's a common misconception among Irish cycling fans that you can only fit Mavic components to these frames, as that was what Sean Kelly rode. Mavic stuff attracts a premium here in Ireland...too many profiteers destroying the hobby.

A quick example: I was looking for a matching pair of 1990s Mavic mechs a few weeks back. I found a pair locally; rear priced at 160, front at 130. 270 quid for two derailleurs - more than I often spend on a complete bike for restoration! A few age related scars, but perfectly functional. A gent in France, also a vintage enthusiast, reached out to me, selling a near perfect set. 78 new european pounds (including tracked postage) landed at my door in deepest, darkest Deise, from his home in Central France. Take my advice: shop around! There's a lot more butchers than lambs in this hobby, these days!

A quick google further afield will often show that Vius owners are quite happy with Campagnolo, Shimano, Suntour, Stronglight and everything else in between fitted to their bikes.

    Spare bedroom.

Aldi steel shelving with the old kitchen worktop attached.

My other half is very understanding, supportive and a wonderful woman...and I'm going to leave this onscreen so she sees what I've just typed if she happens to walk past. :D

my boss has mentioned a couple of times that he's got a box of mid 90s campy components sitting in his garage. i must do him a favour and offer to take them from him (he's in germany though which complicates matters slightly)

Depends. I built one of these with NOS Dura Ace 7400 and another with Campag C Record.

I am currently building a small Navy coloured, KAS badged one up as a Neo Retro with Record/Chorus 10 speed carbon parts.

As 8Valve says.. shop around. If you are not in a rush you will pick up some nice deals.

You wont get the frame cheaper however, thats a decent price for a nice example. If I was a tiny bit taller it would already be in my bike room.

I'd love to but how the hell do ya sneak that through the door and I know what herself would say about cycling on it. :D

Quick shot of my one, not the best picture!...it has Shimano 600 with Biopace Chainrings, I've a 9 speed cassette on and everything works fine. I keep contemplating selling it but everytime I go to the shed to clean it up for photos I take a quick spin and instantly regret even thinking of selling it. Great frame.
