Typical Social Welfare Payment Amount & Tax

    Hi

I know we are in non-normal times and there are a lot more people on social welfare/COVID payments due to the current situation.

My question is more in relation to "normal" times, so lets go back 16 months ago or so.

What would a typical weekly welfare payment be? Is it around 200 euro a week? I know it may differ slightly but I presume the majority are on a standard rate.

I presume there is no tax on that? Or is that amount after tax? If so, what is the pre-tax amount?

    Thanks
