So here is one for any motoring experts out there. Why would a mild Hyprid not start?

This is a brand new car. It was only about a week old and it would not start on a cold morning. It's a mild Hyprid. The Dads car. Just had a look at it myself this morning. Its lovely. He said that some people from the garage came out and had a look at it and had never heard of it happening before. He said he wants it to happen again because if it does the dealer will be getting it back. This is his third car of this make and from this dealer. That is nearly a record. Who knows he might make it 4 if the current car does not break down anymore.
He had 3 new Fords before but not all from the same dealer. He had at least 4 Fords maybe more but I know a Ford Anglia was his first ever car not brand new.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Cars go wrong sometimes.
Hybrid thing is probably incidental. Hopefully it’s something simple.

There’s a fella down in Laois buying a new Ford every year since the 80s, so 3 cars is nowhere near a record I’m afraid.

Oh I know. I mean it's a record for the Da.

Yes hopefully it's something simple and hopefully it does not happen again or he might go back to just a diesel car no Hyprid at all.
    That could mean a Dacia.
Although I think the new Tucson is available as just a diesel. Am I right?

The smaller battery can drain within 10,minutes of lights being left on etc, is used primarily just to start the car (insight hybrid)
Happened a few times when I left the lows on by mistake whilst popping in to Aldi

Ps drained is an exaggeration, but runs down vv quickly

Mild Hybrids are a bit of a lip service hybrid, they are the closest relative to a regular ICE engine, so i'd be looking at the faults as a regular ICE vehicle. Faulty 12v battery, starter etc.

That or if it's only a once off non start and it's a new car to the owner, i'd be looking to rule out driver error first.

99 times out of a 100 if a hybrid won't start its the small 12 battery
I've had 2 Honda insight hybrids and never let me down bar my own stupidity leaving lights on a few times
