Question on tax

    1. I moved out of my apartment last month
    2. My intention was to rent it out in Jan
    3. I haven't been able to find a taker yet

My guess is there is no tax implications here i.e. I can't write the lack of rent for the month of Jan off as a loss for tax purposes. If someone can confirm that'd be great please.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    K

You have no rental income. Therefore there is nothing to tax.
As for writing it off. Nope there’s nothing to write off.
