Out of sheer boredom I sold my 2013 Avensis this morning.

I need to replace it and I'm setting a budget of €3000.

    Key requirements:

    Rear seat for child
    Space for labrador
    Some way interesting
    Well minded

I'm located in North Tipp and preferably don't want to travel a huge distance.

Anyone able to make some good suggestions.

Cars that are being considered so far:
2009 Passat 2l TDi 140bhp with leather interior
    2008 Mini Clubman HDi

What did you think of the avensis
    Did you have it long
    Do you regularly change cars

Bought June 2017, respected it for its comfort on a long trip. Now I'm going nowhere its purpose is gone. Its the longest I've ever owned any car.

You could get the full Megane set! Saw a mk1 in getting repairs before Christmas, phase 1. Hadn’t seen one in ages.

1.8 Civic is pretty quirky, very practical as well with the magic seats.

I've sold the Megane! New car has been purchased to go in its place. I've done better this time.

    1.8 Civic, that could work

Or what about an E Class estate:

    MzU3M2Q2NWRiMWFlZTdhNDM1YzdmN2EwZTRlYzYyMTKrjIrmoz3EJSCwQzQ1SyITaHR0cDovL3MzLWV1LXdlc3QtMS5hbWF6b25hd3MuY29tL2RvbmVkZWFsLmllLXBob3Rvcy9waG90b18xNjEzOTQ5NzN8fHw2MDB4NjAwfHx8fHx8fHw=.jpeg

1.8 litre petrol has reasonable motor tax, huge boot but just make sure the timing chain has been replaced as they are notorious for needing replacement.

I had one in a previous life for the briefest of brief times. Beautiful cars to waft in. Just watch the rear suspension bags/compressor.

I’d forget about the Clubman. I had one and I loved it but I wouldn’t see it as particularly practical with a dog or a child (unless self strapping or on front seat).

I've arrived at the same conclusion. Clubman is out.

The Saabs estates are nice but none for sale near me

That is on the list for contacting later.

Looks good, anything to watch for apart from a drivers fart tearing the seat?

EDIT: Just spotted the engine light is on

As said Timing chains need to be watched on those 1.8 merc engines. Up on a grand to do them too.

Peugeot 406 or even a 407 Coupe. The boot is big in them. Renault Laguna Coupe. Toyota Celica. Opel Insignia Estate. No idea if you would find one in budget but no harm in looking.
    Honda FRV.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
