Go with the proform, the build quality of their stuff is exceptional...

I have this, about 100 euros over your budget though. Brilliant bike. If you could stretch... it’s a brilliantly comfortable, recumbent and well designed and built machine.

I have one exercise bike which I bought last month through Bluefin Fitness coupon codes, my friend suggested me to buy from there, because she's a trainer, and I was looking for home workout.

I have also been looking at he Proform 210. The recumbant doesn't seem to be available now. But I'm very short, only 151cm, and previously have struggled with some of the models in the gym. Arm reach being the biggest problem. I am about to email Elverys to ask but does anyone have any practical experience of bikes for short people.

Looking at the Proform in Elverys too. Are they compatible with ifit? It says on the ad that they are but amazon reviews suggest otherwise.

    Thanks.

Not sure to be honest, but a quick google states the Proform is compatible with ifit and also Elverys are advertising it as being compatible too.

Proform and Nordictrack are the same company. They both work with ifit.

If ifit is worth the bother is a completely separate thing though.

I've just pre-ordered the Proform 210. Here's hoping it suits me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭hbab2009

Might be a silly question but do any exercise bikes link with strava or android health apps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 505 ✭✭✭DubLad69

Went to order the proform yesterday and went out of stock while in my basket. Can anyone recommend another one?

I'm currently using old fold up golds gym one and the pedal keeps falling off.

Or if anyone bought the proform and doesn't like it, I'll give you the full price for it.

I'm still waiting on mine, was on preorder for Feb 5th but not heard a thing yet. I emailed them on Thursday and no answer, might call them today.

Same boat. Ordered mid Jan. No word since

No response to my email, no answer on customer service helpline and order tracking just says in progress.

Apparently the 10-15 day delivery window starts on the day they became avaliable again. I think that was the 6th? In which case they won't be delivered until the end of next week.

Anyone have their proform bike delivered? Mine ordered since 28th jan and impossible to contact elverys.

Same here - ordered the proform bike on 31st Jan. No answer from any of their numbers. Also, their website order tracker can't find the order.

Very, very poor stuff. I'm close to cancelling the order and won't ever shop there again.

Exact same here too, so looks like it should arrive soon. And while the message is a copy I reckon a real person sent it because they spelled my name wrong

Ordered mine on the 15th of Feb. Got a text to say it'll be delivered tomorrow. So they should all arrive soon.

By the way - the 'free' ifit 1 year subscription seems to be a false claim.

I registered my bike as per instructions and there's no sign of a code to claim the subscription - the app is still trying to charge me 14.99 a month!

Some chance of getting anywhere on that with Elverys customer services!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 247 ✭✭Slimity

If that's the case, mine is definitely getting cancelled or going back if it does eventually arrive.

    Did you contact that crowd?

Delivery tomorrow. Just a month later. Much work in putting it together?

Nope - haven't tried that but I will thanks!

The assembly was easy enough - about 30-40 mins. I did it by myself without any problems - even though it says you need two people. The trickiest bit is the handlebar shaft with the wiring - just pay very close attention to the instructions and you'll be fine. Very sturdy bike - very happy with it.

Just a wrench, screwdriver and the tools that came with it - Allen keys

Anybody have any recommendations around €100 or so pricepoint for pensioner just to get a bit of cycling in at home? Just need height adjustable seat/bars and maybe basic workout summary function. Found this on Argos. Nearly 500 4 star reviews. Worth a punt? Or any other recommendations? Thanks

So my bike came, and it's rubbish. It won't cycle (it's like the inside is getting caught on something and then the knob for changing the seat height just broke off

The Proform 210 from Elverys. I managed to fix it, but it seems like it will just keep happening. So I'll have to return.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 869 ✭✭✭tringle

Mine ordered 29 Jan and no sign of it yet. Email received to say it will be on the way but no dispatch notice yet. And I hadn't planned on having much assembly to do, hopefully husband will be around and in a good humour.

I received the Proform 210 today and have the same problem. It won't cycle even on the lowest resistance.

Driver looking for my house right now. Has anyone have any success with theirs from the January order. I will be so disappointed if i cant use mine this weekend.

There are instructions in the manual to remove and readjust the drive belt. It takes a while, and I was terrified I was gonna break the whole bike.

Yeah that's my worry too. I found good instructions on youtube for how to do it so I'll give it a bash later. Only other option is to return it and wait weeks for a replacement.

    Anyone using the Echelon bike?

My proform being delivered tomorrow apparently.

Lads these accounts of it not working are not inspiring much confidence.
    Any satisfaction with it now?

Yeah mine is working fine now. They said they would send a new knob for the one that's broken and it's working fine after I adjusted the belt.

It's not the most sturdy though. I tried using it with iFit and there are parts where it tells you to stand, but when I try standing it just doesn't feel secure enough

Mine unpacked but not assembled. Other than ifit has anyone found any other nice app to use with an exercise bike. I dont want to race or have to keep up with anyone but would like to plot a journey and see it on a map as i get through it. Any suggestions?

Assembly is easy enough. As far as I know it only works with iFit, but if you find anything else please let us know.

I had this bike from Argos a few years ago and I found it great to use! I ended up giving it away (got lazy!).

I recently got back into cycling again and I’ve been looking for that bike since January, it hasn’t been in stock yet! I bought one from HomeStore & More for €200 instead.

I would recommend the Argos one, if it comes back in stock. :)

I use Samsung Health on an actual cycle or walk and love it so something like that for a virtual cycle would be great. Does Ifit have virtual cycles you can do when you want or is it all live classes?

Ok so it looks like Ifit will do this. I originally thought so but then all I've been reading lately seems to focus on the oven classes.

I have an exercise bike too. Really getting into it.

But, is it better to burn more calories at a lower resistance setting or should I up it a gear and break more sweat but burn less calories?
