Question about downloading

I'm living in a shared house with roommates and we have Virgin broadband. I wanted to know if there I can download as much as I want or is there a limit to that nowadays?

I don't want to ask my roommate what package we are on, because I don't want him to know that I'm planning on downloading a load of stuff in case he gets angry about the drop in speed.

I will limit the speed I'm downloading at to avoid any hassle, but just want to know if there is anything I need to be concerned about regarding how much I download.

Do I need to watch the amount at all? Will we get a letter from the isp? Can anyone else see how much I download if I'm using a VPN?

No limit, you're safe to download as much as you want. The bill payer can see monthly usage total on the bill but they wouldn't know who or what device done the downloading. Chances are they won't notice any drop even if you didn't limit the speeds. Virgin media is quick enough to cope with multiple people downloading simultaneously.

If anybody in a shared house is stupid enough to have a limit on downloading on their package, more the fool they!
    Work away I would.

So there is no way we are using some old plan or something which can have limits? The would all be updated or something right?

VM is perfect for what you want to do, I know, I have it, there's no need to limit your speeds either.
