Not releasing after less than half a second on the ground? Are you not allowed to place the ball?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,128 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Doing a number on Ulster's lineout tonight.

The new interpretation is if there is a sniff if a jackal it's a pen.

Coetzee is fond of a head high hit isn't he?

The Doris turnover? He was clamped onto the ball. Ulster cleared him out and he still had hands on the ball.

It doesn't matter how long you're on the ground. If the opposition have hands on the ball legally, you have to release. You're preventing a legal turnover.

    That's at least a yellow.

Yeah but 99% of rucks could be blown for not releasing if they’re contested

    Coetzee has to walk here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,321 ✭✭✭crisco10

    Cronin not really ducking.

Is a sidestep now mitigating factor?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,429 ✭✭✭ongarite

He turned his shoulder deliberately into Cronin

    Brace loves some mitigation.

Ref is thinking "wtf is it this time" on his long jog over

Right arm wasn't wrapping at all

  • Subscribers Posts: 42,486 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

The big difference is the upward tackle motion. No attempt to tackle low

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 472 ✭✭Kraftwerk

Very lucky there. He led with a shoulder and made head contact.

Does Healy get pinged as well?

Pity we couldn't card the commentators

    Test level stuff here.

Both teams playing like it's a final.

  • Subscribers Posts: 42,486 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

That was brutal by leinster, 3 standing still passes in that play

Leinster went touch to touch with no one running forward. Just flung it on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,795 ✭✭✭Mrcaramelchoc

    Cronin having a nightmare game

It really isn't, in fairness. Very good level of intensity befitting of a big interpro.

Quality of play on show is poor, generally though.

Kind of disappointing to see Ulster ahead now. Leinster have had a lot of pressure and Coetzee carded.

A few odd Brace decisions so far...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,321 ✭✭✭crisco10

Leinster have been wrong side of ref since yellow. It's frustrating.

has James Ryan gone back a bit lately ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,128 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinster have increased the physicality and line speed a lot compared to last week's game. But the fluidity and accuracy in attack is missing.

    Ross Byrne experiment not working.

No good not having no running threat at 10 and 13.

    Sexton has been poor

Enjoying this I have to say. Ulster look well up for it and Leinster seem a little off the pace.

I actually thought he's been one of leinsters better players this half.

bad place to give away a penalty

Healy carried the ball three times early in the half and all three times was smashed backwards.

Would never have happened a few years ago.

Unfortunately the injury at the 6 nations might have been one injury too far

Hopefully he can return to form but no sign of it so far since he came back

Definitely rust in the Leinster forwards. Some big game players in that 8, time for leadership actions and way more energy.

  • Subscribers Posts: 42,486 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Doris, apart from one nice steal, has been very quite

Not the youngest/energetic pack with Healy, Cronin and Fardy starting.
