Fixing composite door

Hi,

When we moved in 5 years ago we got a new composite door installed. It was supposed to be a perfectly sealed door that wouldn't cause us issues. Unfortunately not the case. On cold nights there's a constant draught and when the sun shines on it in the evening it expands and sticks.

I called the installation company and they sent the installer out but to be honest he just didn't believe us. It's hard to prove on a cool summers day or a warm winters day but it's freezing now, and jammed in summer. He had a go at adjusting the frame but it was just random movements. It didn't work anyway, I had another window installer in the house for other with at a later date but his attempts were similar.

Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any ways to go about fixing it?

A composite door should not be affected so much by the temperature. It is possible whatever is surrounding the door is expanding/contracting and causing your issue.

What is the material around the door. Bricks, wood etc?

It's an old house, could be 1930s, poured concrete/pebble dash. Corporation house.

Is there anything I can do about that?

If its that big of a gap then you should be able to fit something into it. Cardboard etc. Create a video of it and show it to the installers of the door and get them to fix it.

The doors should be still under warranty and concrete should not expand. So whatever the problem is, it is more likely to be the door than the concrete surrounding.

Those doors have adjustment in height and width,
Not much about 4 or 5 mil.
If your door was badly fitted then you might have
to have it refitted.
