Famous people you wouldnt recognise

Horror novelist Stephen King, he has probably sold way more books than any pop or rock band has sold albums but if he walked passed me in the street I wouldnt recognise him.

The members of Coldplay excluding Chris Martin, again I havent a bean what they look like.

Who else is ridiculously famous for what they do but not that recognisable? Enya might be another one, havent seen her in 20 years, she probably has grey hair and wrinkles now.

Probably recognisable to those who read his books and regularly see his picture on the inside book covers. But for those who dont he could be sitting in a cafe across from you and you wouldnt know its him. Theres massive selling authors out there who refuse to publish their picture, some even use pen names. They can have world wide fame but most people dont know what they look like.

With all the photoshopping/make up/perfect shot, id wonder how many famous people actually look the way they appear in the media.

Most modern pop stars are a mystery to me. Drake, Sia, Lorde etc. I wouldn't recognise them if they were sitting beside me. Same with most soap actors apart from the long timers like Phil Mitchell etc. There's also a lot of actors in very popular films that I wouldn't know like I had never heard of Paul Walker before he died.

Realistically, there are very few famous people that everyone (or a very high percentage of everyone) will recognize. We are talking the likes of Obama, Trump, Tom Cruise maybe etc.

There are probably fewer musical stars percentage wise cause everyone has such diverse musical taste. Like i'd be fairly sure if Beyonce walked down the street in normal everyday clothes, i wouldn't recognize her.
