I am just looking for a piece of classic music, it was used years ago for the Irish independent advert on RTÉ, I know the tune but I can’t think of the title or artist, it is an iconic song, I heard it on radio 1 before I think the artist was glen orchestra band, it would be great if anyone here could give the band and title thanks

I remember the Irish Independent using a piece of music by Carl Orff in a TV advert in the 1990's. Not sure if it's the piece of music you're looking for, but here it is:

The Glen orchestra band, I'm wondering do you mean the Glenn Miller orchestra?

I can't think of anything linked with the Irish Independent ads of yore but a listen to Glen Miller classics on youtube might offer something up since you know the tune and it's iconic.

Also, if you know the tune, and if you can hum it.. you can use an online recording site like vocaroo.com and upload it here for someone to identify

First off, it's The Glenn Miller Orchestra with two ns!

If it is them, I would start off with In The Mood because that is probably the most recognisable tune:

The next most well-known tune is probably Moonlight Serenade:

Glen Gray Orchestra? No idea what song though. YouTube might be your friend there. His stuff was quite up tempo.
