Hi all just looking for advice on what car to get. Currently have a 2005 vw polo but need to change due to costly repairs.
Looking at fiesta, fabia and vw polo.
Is there any others that ye would recommend?
Needs to be petrol as mileage I’m doing is small, 1 litre to 1.2 litre, air conditioning and Bluetooth would be nice if in budget, but reliability would be most important.
    Budget is €9000 max.

If you find the right car for you, Bluetooth Parrott systems can be fitted for 200 euro and they do a good job. Sister in law got a very nice clio 2016 at the start of this year for under 10 grand. Low mileage and a nice looking little car.

You’ll just about get a nice high spec facelift Polo in budget. Facelift started in mid 2014 and there really nice cars as long as you get SE or above

+1 for the Polo. I got a facelift model for less than 10000 and couldn’t be happier. Has Bluetooth as well. Great little car.

If reliability is your top priority a Honda Jazz might fit the bill. Think later versions only came in hybrid form but that's no bad thing

Would consider a Nissan Micra too. That money won’t get you into the latest model though

I disagree. The Micra before than current Micra was a woeful absolutely terrible car. One of Nissans worst.

Suzuki Swift is well worth a look do and Puegeot 208 as well.

    Peace and long life.

Nissan teaming up with Renault went the opposite way to what they hoped. Nissan are no longer automatically seen as reliable

On the other hand, I recently bought a new Megane. The fact that it has a Nissan engine was a big factor in me buying it.

I like Renault and have never had a problem with them but that Micra after the 2001 Micra was just terrible. The 2007/8 Micra model I mean. The one that is out now is a good car do but the one before it was just terrible in every way style everything. I never look at them if I see them on the road.

The new Clio is really nice.
That or the Peugeot 208 would be the pick of the supermini market for me .

My wife had the old bubble shape Micra for a few years. Horrible looking car, and not plesant to drive at all, but fairly cheap and reliable motoring.

Micra Syndrome was definitely a thing though. People did not like to be behind one of them at all.

You could be doing 100kph through a school zone, and people would still try to overtake you, just so they would not be behind a Micra :D
