Screwing door into existing holes

Looking to put back on the press door. The handiest way is to keep hinges as they are on the door.

The problem I need to overcome is that the screws would be going back into the existing holes, so it won’t hold.

What options would I have thicker screws or can I fill the holes in and rescrew? Thoughts would be appreciated As it’s been of 6 months!!

Stick an golf tee in, break it flush, and use a self tapping screw.

Cheers for the reply and just to clarity, put golf tee into existing holes, then basically drive a screw into the golf tee which expands and problem solved?

Bingo. I've done the same with match sticks. Pack the hole out with matchsticks, cut them flush, then drive your screw into them.

As mentioned above or a similarly sized dowel.

I use a bit of wood glue with the match sticks as well..

Definitely use glue as well and let it dry first.

Thanks for all the above it works, got it up yesterday. Tried Dowel rod but screw holes too small. Ensded up with cocktail sticks and all is well :-) Great advise
