So have an intermittent fault with my Clio. Sometimes on cold start up it runs very poorly. Doesnt happen all the time and was actually running ok cold starting during the recent cold snap but today for example damp and dreary the issue was there. It chugs when it runs like it loses a cylinder and then it comes back. Its most noticeable in low gears with low revs. When the engine heats up the issue goes away. I've changed the spark plugs and the coolant sensor but the problem persists. Any ideas?.

Coil would be a fairly common issue on those

Crank shaft sensors issues on both that and prior model..replaced 3 sensors on the ‘03-06 model. Prob still have another spare 1 in shed.

So changing getting my fuel from applegreen to Circle K has apparently cleared up the problem.
