Hi. What’s happening when the UK leaves the EU in the new year for buying a car up north. Will there an extra tax added on? VRT, NoX and something new??

Nobody knows for sure but certainly VAT and import duty are possible.

There was talk of some sort of VAT deal if buying from Northern Ireland But I’m not sure how that would work.

Revenue have claimed no import duty if buying up north.
