Is it possible, to buy a new Audi(right hand drive) in Germany, and have it registered at a German address(I own a property there), and legally drive in Ireland on the German plates with German insurance?

It’s no different than having a uk car at a uk address.
    Depends on your residency etc.

You can drive a foreign registered car in Ireland as a tourist.
    Are you a tourist? German?

you could be called upon to show your main address is in Germany. Tax records etc.

Can you register a car in Germany if your not a resident there? Owning property doesn't make you a resident.

I'm Irish resident but in Germany on business so would drive there frequently. What's the worst case scenario if I get stopped here, even if the car is legally insured.

    Car seized, Revenue prosecution.

How many days a year would you be in Germany and how many days would you be in Ireland?

Now, same question about the car, how many days would the car be in each country? Are you going to drive it over and back when on business.?

I did something similar a few years ago. I worked inGermany for 2 years and bought a new RHD car there 6 months before i returned to Ireland.

I had to inform revenue within 4 weeks and had to prove i lived there by providing utility bills and i gave them details of my German bank account and copy of apartment rental agreement.

They cleared it and then i brought it to nct centre for new reg number.

I didnt have to pay for the vrt providing i didnt sell tge car here for 12 months. The whole process went very smoothly.
