The Pogues and Kirsty McCall - Fairytale of New York

The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)

Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas. Literally the only Mariah Carey song I will ever vote for!

The Pogues and Kirsty McCall - Fairytale of New York - technically not an Xmas song but hey-ho.

The Pogues and Kirsty McCall - Fairytale of New York VS Dean Martin - Winter Wonderland - Sacrilege, I know, but I am just fed up of FNY, and Dean is easy on the ear!

Chris Rea - Driving Home for Christmas VS The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight) - I like both but I prefer the first.

Shakin Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone VS Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Can't go wrong with a backing band that includes some E Street Band members, plus I hate the other!

Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas VS Elvis Presley - Lonely This Christmas - Not mad about either. The first is irritatingly catchy but overplayed, but the second is a bit sweeter.

And that is the only Xmas related part of it. Even Shane said it wasn't a Christmas song.

Sure what does he know? Bruce Willis tried to convince us that Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie, which is also clearly wrong, so I no longer believe a word that comes out of a celebrity's mouth.

Songs that did not start as specifically Christmas songs:
    Fairy Tale of New York
    Stop The Cavalry
The Power of Love (The Frankie Goes to Hollywood tune - there are a few songs around with that title)

That's a thread for someone somewhere else.

Wham - Last Christmas vs Gemma Hayes & Richard Egan - The Christmas song - Interesting quirky tune plus I'm fed up of the other.

Bing Crosby - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas vs Meaghan Trainor - I'll be Home - Easy on the ear and, having had a quick listen to the other, there is no contest there.

Andy Williams - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year vs The Eagles - Please Come Home for Christmas - Nice vocal from Don Henley.

Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas vs Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power of Love - An all-time classic, and the best of the various Band Aids.

Gemma Hayes & Richard Egan - The Christmas song. Didn't realise this was a proper song, I thought it was only for the Spar ad.
Bing Crosby - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
Andy Williams - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas. Only because, as much as I like it, The Power of Love is not a Christmas song. But somebody decided to give it a nativity based video and confused the hell out of people.

Likewise! And, so far, we are the only ones that voted for it!

I quite like it, and anything is better than that awful Wham song. Well except maybe that awful Chris Rea song.

Godley and Creme were responsible for the video. Strictly speaking, there are two versions: one with FGTH looking down at the scene from the top of the screen, and one without!

I have a spotify playlist done up which I'll be posting after this round, it has all of the last 66 songs included.
