Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Carrie Underwood - O Holy Night VS Rob Halford - O Holy Night - Interesting guitar-driven version.

    Yes Martina did it well

I also liked Andy's take on it on The X Factor in 2005 when the show was good with talent

Well after listening to the angelic voices of the King choir kids just now, I couldn't warm to Andy version straight away. But after a minute he really comes into it & I'm liking! Nice find Liz :)
I'll award you back some points you lost for the girls aloud shame ;)

I didn't expect to see Savatage included in the best Christmas song ever competition. I'm not complaining mind.

Its a fantastic piece of music, I listen to it no matter the time of year, despite the fact I hate Christmas, had to give it the nod in my nominations, even if nobody appreciated it... Thankfully a few people did.

It was The Office (US) that introduced it to me - one of Dwight's favourites

I notice a worrying trend when two songs are tied one good, one bad. 9 times out of 10 Necs will put the turkey through. :P

You know what they say, never leave it in the hands of the judges :D

Less than an hour to go, kicking off with some HUGE Christmas songs so don't miss out on the voting!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,291 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

    Ok so for Round 1

66 songs remain in the contest.

We will have 30 normal one on ones and two triple threats at the end of the round to whittle our way down to the final 32.

Matches have a 30 minute time limit with all ties resolved by myself.

As above, don't leave it in the hands of the judges - you're most likely not gonna like my decision :D

    We ready to roll???

The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight). One of my nominations, and I fcuking detest that Chris Rea piece of sh*te song!
Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). Another of my nominations, and let's face it, Shaky sucks too.
