Starting A New Job Jan 01

    hello
    i will be starting a new Job on Jan 01 and we get paid Bi-Weekly and will be paid on ARREARS and was wondering when i get my first wages into my account. so for example 2 weeks from jan 01 is 14th Jan that would be the first 2 weeks worked would i get my wages then or would it be at the end of the month?

    It depends on your new company's payroll and what deadlines they have. Some need a bit of time to get new employees on the system and sort out banking arrangements. In addition, with Christmas and New Year, it's possible that payroll wouldn't add anyone until after 4th January, and that might be too late to pay you at the end of the following week. You may get paid at the end of week 2, but I would prepare to not be paid until the week starting 25th January.

    Bear in mind that just because you are starting on the 1st, doesn't mean the two week period does.

    For example, I'm also paid every fortnight, and our paydays in Jan will be the 7th and 21st.
    So you could get paid for one week on the 21st, and not have a full pay packet until 4th Feb.

    January 1st is a bank holiday for ordinary folk. Guess you don't get it off
