Contract renewal/new contract with Vodafone

My Vodafone FTTH contract is almost up and I’ve contacted them about renewing and what they can offer me – the best they have come up with so far is €5 off my current €60/month package, despite them offering €30/month for 12 months to new customers for the same package....

After a quick browse, I can get a similar €30/month deal with both Eir and Pure Telecom. The Vodafone service has been pretty much flawless since it was installed and I don’t really want the hassle of switching or having any downtime with it.

Is it possible or has anyone ever just taken out a brand new contract with Vodafone just to avail of the introductory offer, and then cancelling their existing contract?

Just tell them you are moving to pure unless they can match the offer. Worked for me.

Thanks! How did you contact them to do that? Calling 1907 and webchat have both been far from helpful up to now - just keep getting the same script from both of them.........

Ask to speak to the Retention Team - it was only when I got to them last year I got my €60 down to €45.
Due to renew in Feb next, but this time I will be asking for the new Siro deal as it's now available on my road.

I did this and they offered me a decent deal but not as good as pure were giving.

I was amazed they offered to cancel immediately, internet disconnected at a minute passed midnight and dropped the modem into a Vodafone store. If only all their services were that streamlined.

    Thanks for all the advice

I rang customer service earlier and asked to be put through to the retention team - just waiting on a call back from them....

They wouldn't budge for me so I moved to PURE. When i rang to cancel vodafone, they claimed they offered me a great deal until I told them what I was offered and he admitted that it said that in the notes. Likewise, telling me 30 days required when the notes suddenly confirmed that I didn't need that.

I was surprised they wouldn't budge. Now that I've moved to a company that answers the phone quickly and also I don't have to strain my ears to hear them, I wonder will I ever go back to VF. There's a lot of Irish based and staffed resellers out there with nearly as good deals.

I was with Vodafone for home bb. Siro became available and basically would only give me 10€ Off. They even put me straight through to retentions without asking.

Went to sky in the end.

Just received a call back from the retention team - they will only bring it down to €45 a month with one month free

A switch to Pure Telecom it is then....

Even though my contract is about to expire, are they correct in saying that I still have to give them 30 days notice that I am leaving them?
