Volkswagen Caddy IV oil filter location

    Hi all
    This is really embarrassing I've been trying to find the oil filter housing in my 2019 vw caddy and failed miserably.
    Can someone help me out and tell me where it's located, thanks.

    Did you check if the newer models has the filter underneath? I know the older ones had the filter on top but might have changed?

    I bought the filter, it's one of those soft cardboard ones that you put in a metal housing. It's not the metal one that you screw onto the engine, looked on youtube and google can't find anything about newer models.

    Same here! I had earlier model caddy's and all filters on top and easy to get to but I can't see anything in your pic or online about it. Someone here should know where the new ones are.

    The oil filter on they generation engine is underneath take off the tray drain the oil out of the sump fully replace washer on the sump plug and tighten the sump bolt. Move towards and look straight up behind the radiator you will see a black cable in a clip it’s the starter motor loom on clip the cable from the loom and you can get ur 32 socket and ratchet up to the oil filter. Make sure u have a bucket under the filter and only open it about 2 full turns and let the oil drain into the bucket. The slowly undo the filter fully trying not to make a mess. Oil does tend to leak abit so just know that in advance. Replace the o ring around the filter cap insert new filter and then go in the opposite direction of the directions given.
