Grinding sound

    hi folks,mate has an 11 ford fiesta,notices a sort of grinding sound for a few seconds on start each mourning,only happens at mourning start up,seems ok during the day,any ideas?

    Does it happen any more or less when he puts foot on accelerator ro increase revs?

    Probably the starting motor sticking. You could remove it and clean the bendix gear. Although it could grind little each morning for years and not break.

    Could be anything and it'll be impossible for us to figure out here.
    Since you are third party I suggest your friend record it for a mechanic.
