Toyota Corolla 2001 - what's it worth?

Hi all, I'm wondering roughly how much a clean 2001 3 door hatchback Corolla 1.4l petrol with c. 160k miles should be worth? NCT recently expired, but the car is clean, in very good condition, driving perfectly & has given no trouble. I've been looking online (done deal etc.) but there's quite a bit of variation in pricing. Any guidance as to how much I should be pricing this at would be appreciated. Thanks!

With no NCT in the low hundreds, with an NCT maybe €750.

Are you sure NCT is out, most have been extended by 4 months because of Covid, you can check it at nct.ie

Is 750 for a soon to be 20 year old car not optimistic? I have seen a few on DD for silly money but I couldn't see that this would be worth more than 3-400 at best.

3 door Corollas were popular with young lads and clean ones are rare these days but they are now hard to insure due to their age. With no NCT it won't fetch much I'm afraid.

I've a 2005 1.4 petrol 5 door with 135k miles or so, its manky as its used for the dogs all the time, but even with a proper clean and valet, I'd bite the hand off someone for 750 euro.
It cost 1400 two years ago next month, bought off bangernomics. Have spent about 350 on it in that time, at most. Due nct in January, if it gets thru we'll keep it another year. They are a great little car, engine will go forever.

The way things are for it now I'd take someones hand off for €500 with an NCT for it.

Without an NCT it's worth what you can get for it.

I sold my three door VVTI Corolla 2001 with 113,000 miles and a 11 month nct for €485.

The older shape ones like this to be honest are far more desirable than the model that came after it. Only problem is insurance for young lads.
I remember Letterkenny used to be chocked full of them, lowered, mad sun visors and fart can exhausts.

I had a blue one like that as my first car with pearlescent VVTI stickers haha.

    It's hardly in white OP?

That's the shape I have, it's silver. Yeah would be a great car for a young lad if they could get insurance.

Any particular reason why you believe the older one was a better car than the newer shape?

The model 00 01 years had the old Toyota Corolla WRC body shape with new head lights that looked smarter. And the 1.4 VVTi engine used 02+ .

I'm not saying it's a better car I just think their cooler than the newer shape (which is now old tbh) but alas it's all VAG now with the old lexus floating about.
