    Just wondering what type of timber do they make the wood bearing s at the side out of.i must make a couple.used red deal the last time and they didnt last long

    Oak usually, I assume any hardwood would do.
    Red deal would be too soft alright.

    Oak is what's usually used in rollers. If you can wait before fitting, let them soak in some oil for a while first.

    Try a tree surgeon. Got some 9 x 4 oak planks for a mantelpiece a few years back. Was only roughly planked but that's what I was looking for. Also some of the Sawmills cutting fence posts may have oak. A local joiner would be your best bet for teak. Probably have oak too but probably not in larger dimensions

    Hard got. Most teak nowadays are chinese wood which wouldnt be the same as the old slow growing version. It would be like steel. Nightmare to bore into
