PC/Desktop Speakers

    Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a set of stereo speakers to primarily use with the computer (desktop use) and perhaps Roon down the line. Tidal on the PC and have a USB DAC.

The desk is against the wall but deep enough at 80cm. I have a little class d amp (Temple Audio Bantam Gold) so that will be driving whatever I get.

Desk space (depth) is clearly an issue as is nearfield listening. I'd like to keep the budget to €200 if possible.

Wharfedale 9.0 fit the bill due to size as does the Spektor 1. Both have a depth less than 20cm. Anything else I should take a look at? Playing with the Oberon 1 but they are well over budget but possible (a little bit too large also).

    Thanks...

    Hi SachaJ,

Those options would be great although the Dali Spektor 1s would be a big upgrade over the Wharfedales and give a better sound!

The only other ones I would recommend would be the Monitor Audio Bronze 1 which we have on offer at the moment. They would be the best of the three but the depth is 20.5cm!

Let me know what you think of this option!

    Kind regards

How does the Oberon 1 compare. Main concern is boom/distortion so close to a wall on the desk.

Any ides will we see Opticon discounts now the MK2 line is out? Not sure desk use but possible sitting room setup.

    Hi SachaJ,

Thanks for getting back to me!

The Oberons are a step above to be fair! They do sound amazing! I have both the Oberon and Opticon 1s in stock but I don't know if they will be dropping in advance!

We do have our 14 Day Price promise though so if they drop within 14 days of purchase we can refund the difference!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
