Hi. Looking for a new laptop. Upgrading from my old HP. Is a Macbook air sufficient for general internet use/work use/zoom calls, or should I invest in the macbook pro?

Air will do you more than fine, unless you're looking at doing a lot of more demanding tasks like video editing or multi-track audio, or you need more than 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports (hint: get a Thunderbolt 3 or USB C dock instead) . Or for some reason you want the Touch Strip (hint: you probably don't really).
