    Hi all

Im on point 10 of Clerical officer scale with HSE. Have been offered CO position in Civil Service. I get paid a few hundred more than the equivalent point 10 of CO civil service scale. Would I start on point 11 if I took the civil service job. Or would I have to take the small cut in pay? Would lose a few days of annual leave but hoping for flexi time and shorter commute.

    From the relevant circular

Appointees to the civil service who are moving from posts elsewhere in the public
service to what is deemed to be an analogous grade and pay scale may be appointed
at the current point of scale.
    ......
Where the appointee's current salary is not an exact match in respect of incremental
points, the appointee will be appointed on an off point [subject to paragraph 7.1
below]. The appointee will retain the increment date from the previous role. The
appointee will then come on scale on this date.

I wouldn't be making my mind up on changing roles either way over a few hundred quid

My understanding is that you would start on your current salary and brought onto the CO scales at your next increment date however I'm not certain of that.
