iTunes 4K digital upgrades

    I've got a question on 4K upgrades.

    I bought the Back to the Future Trilogy on the Irish iTunes store back in October. Since then the film has been released in 4K. In my account, BttF III has upgraded to 4K but the other two remain in HD.

    The first two films show in HD for me in the iTunes store too.

    I've also noticed this with Doctor Strange. I bought it last year but it hasn't upgraded to 4K.

    Does anyone know what way Apple manages these upgrades? Does it just take time for them to update the versions sold on stores around the world?

    It seems to be an issue with Universal movies. They took months to update Jaws to 4K when it was already in the US store. Gladiator, ET and all three BTTF are 4K in the US. They’ll probably upgrade eventually but the timing seems random
