Hi, hope I'm not posting in the wrong place but I have my nct on Wednesday morning and I've had a fault on my dash the last few months. I don't have the funds to get a diagnostic test done on it, but I'll explain briefly what the fault is. My fault is showing as the airbag passenger side, now my mam had hit the wires underneath the seat with her walking stick and we are both thinking she maybe has hit a sensor or something, basically I'm asking for any advice so I can fix the fault myself. I have changed the fuses in the fuse box but to no avail. If anyone can help a genuine damsel in distress I would greatly appreciate it. My car is an opel astra 2008 H. Thank you

The yellow wires under the seats are notorious for getting corroded. Id say youve just disturbed them with the walking stick.
Youl`ll need to pull the connectors apart, clean them down with a light sand paper and reconnect.
Im not 100% sure if the light will go off but if you are in the dublin area I could reset it for you if you get the repair done.

I'm in Waterford unfortunately but thank you so much for your offer, I can't find the connectors under the seat as its too awkward to get at , I'll have to put it through the nct and let it fail, and then get it repaired. Thank you for your advice

Connect and disconnect the plug a few times this is usually enough to get an ok contact(keys out of ignition!!)- this may do the trick, but some ecu’s need a reset.

Astra H will clear the code itself in the airbag system when repaired.
Put the seat back to the last and lift up if seat allows to move up and you can get to the plug under the seat.
plug it in and out a few time should sort it.

Thank you very much, I'll give it a try in the morning

Iv just spotted this now unfortunately. I'm in Waterford almost daily and would turn it off if that's all is required. Hope you passed.

Ah thanks very much, unfortunately it failed on the wishbone being worn and the alignment was totally out, I wouldn't mind he never said anything about the airbag light, but thanks very much for your kind offer
