Hello there, I am just wondering could any experienced job hunters provide me with some advice regarding recruitment agencies?
My background is customer service and retail having recently been made redundant as cabin crew. Unfortunately, the aviation industry has been particularly badly hit by Covid 19. I have just completed an ECDL course. I have never used a recruitment agency before but really amn’t having much luck applying on indeed and jobs.ie and am beginning to feel very despondent😓does anybody recommend any recruitment agency in particular and what is the best way to approach them? Wishing everybody a happy Halloween and thanks in advance for any advice.

Recruitment agencies are sales people trying to please their customer. Their customer is the employers.

If you're suitable for a role they're trying to fill, they will give you a lot of attention. If they have nothing for you, they will ignore you.

It's important you understand this as it helps set expectations.

So what you want to do is make up your CV and ring a recruiter.

    Which recruiters to ring?

I would go to various job websites and search for jobs you're interested in. Look to see which recruitment agencies advertise those sorts of jobs. For example, you might discover Hays advertise a lot of customer service roles. So give them a call.

    Happy Halloween to you too.

Hello. CPL are looking for Contact Tracers nationwide. You would be a good candidate with your Customer Services background. Is this something you would be interested in?

The Temporary Clerical Officer Job Competition in the Public Service has just opened again. www.publicjobs.ie

It may not be what you are looking for but you are the type of person they are looking for. You won't get a permanent job out of it but its good experience. And will stand to you if you apply for a permanent job when the next recruitment drive opens.

As a former agency recruiter, this is 100% true and the great advice. Good luck with your search, it won't be easy but with hard work and determination you'll get something.
