    Hi,
I'm thinking of purchasing the Sony STRDH790.
I currently have a Pioneer 5.1 surround sound dvd player but I want to be able to play sound from TV and other devices through the speakers. My question is,the connectors on the speakers and subwoofer is a block connector connection. Will I be able to use the speakers with the Sony STRDH790 Amplifier.Im thinking I'll have to cut the connector from the speaker cable and connect the speaker wire directly into the back of the Amp?Would this work
    Thanks

    Hi jb969665,

The Sony STRDH790 is a fantastic amp and you would be able to connect your existing sprakers to it if you cut off the block connectors however it will only take an active subwoofer so your existing sub won;t be compatible.

You would need to go for an active sub as well if you were looking to upgrade your AV receiver. You could start off with something like Q Acoustics 3070s which would be compatible with any AV receiver!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
