Revolut charge 0.5% over 1k per month so probably not the best for large amounts. Also make sure to convert during the week while the fx markets are open

Currency fair were more like 0.1%

Also, check you debit card. I believe EU currency conversions might be limited to about a 10 euro fee per transaction. Check with your bank

Upgrade to premium for €7.99 and theres no charge, then downgrade back to standard and get your €7.99 back

I used currency fair, there Mark up on the trade is 0.4% + €2.50 transaction fee.
I needed to do a bank transfer to cf as I exceeded the daily limit for debit card, it took a day to go through and was with the dealership following day.

Another vote for CurrencyFair, Money arrived in Scotland 20mins after paying here at 8.30 one evening. Simple and cheap way to do it.

I’ve used Fexco a few times, no problems.

Just an aside, I happen to be talking to the person in charge at the local centre that deals with imports/VRT yesterday, and as I will be looking at importing a car for my son next summer, I asked what the story is after Brexit. He replied no one knows for certain yet, but he told me to do it as quickly as possible to avoid further red tape and likely cost increases.

So op, if you find a car you like in the North, might be worth sorting it as soon as you are allowed to travel.
