Tax query

My friend has a tax issue, I've searched online but can't find the answer so thought I'd ask here to see if anyone could help.

What they did was kind of silly, not sure why they did it. They started a new job on Monday but didn't finish their old job until today. They've been working for their new company this week and called in sick to their old company, their notice period ends today.

Does this have tax implications? I mean when the new company is setting up their tax, it can't be done until my friend is actually finished with the old company? The new company will then realise that they were still working for the old company? Any other implications?

There is no issues having 2 jobs at the same time and as an employer, you wouldn’t be aware the employee has another job

Thanks. I'll have to apologise to them so. I was giving out to them for doing this. I thought the new and old employers would find out.

No such thing as P60's anymore so all he needs to do is enter the new employers Tax ID on their revenue account and the old employer will cease their old job by notifying revenue.

He may need to transfer his credits from his old to his new job. Otherwise he will get taxed to bits in his new job.
