    Hi all,

Xbox user who was playing a ps4 in a friends recently and preferred it to Xbox. The thought occurred to me to sell and change to Ps4. Was hoping it would be cost neutral but ps4 is a bit more pricy even second hand so will probably cost 70 quid or so via cex. I'm a casual gamer so not too interested in the next gen for now but just wondering if I'm mad to be considering paying to change to a similar spec machine to what I already have! Any thoughts appreciated.

PS4 has a fully fleshed-out library of existing games, most of which are heavily discounted now. If you've never had any PlayStation's before, there is a lot of exclusive games you'll likely have missed out on.

It will still get new games for the next year or two, but after that, it will likely stop.

If you can wait until after Christmas, there will likely be a lot more used PS4's available from those who got PS5's, which will bring the price down even more. I'd also expect some price drops on new ones on black Friday this year, if your interested in those.

The only thing I would say is that the PS5 supports practically all PS4 games, and will be current-gen for at least another 7 years. It is more expensive up-front, but will last you a lot longer.

Thanks for the reply. You have me thinking the 5 might be the way to go but seems a lot for my minimal usage. Thanks again

I think it's a decent idea, the exclusives on the PS4 have been exceptional. There's still 12 months of life left in the PS4 even for new games. As the other poster said the prices are dirt cheap.

If you're a casual user and don't buy games on release, then it's worth it. The only game I buy on release is PES soccer, the rest I get a year or 2 late when they're on sale. God of War, Nier, any COD are all at least a year later for me. Anything else is either a PS+ game or something heavily discounted through the PS shop. And I still manage to play about 4 nights a week. It's definitely worth it.
