Would probably go in asking 3450 and see how it goes for a week or so just on the off chance. If no interest and for it to actually sell, would probably ask 2950 and take 2750 ish.

Cheapest advertised 06 or 07 is 3250 and that has 6 months test on it, looks mostly tidy, average ish kms and low owners.

You'd need to be undercutting that with no tax or test, few issues etc for it to actually shift i think.

Personally i think white, 3dr, manual is a nice combo in a Mk5 particularly with a sunroof but i know for a lot of buyers 5dr and DSG are must haves.

Thanks,is there currently a demand on these cars or has it gone a bit stagnant?

I think they are in limbo a bit in fairness. Prices gave dropped off a cliff over the last year or two.

A friend of mine a VW mechanic had a black, 07, 3 door, manual, only 100k kms, fresh NCT in the Dubin area, he took €3100 for it 2 years go and was waiting a while to get it too.

Hard to know what to do with selling at the minute with covid and lockdows and you can't even get the car listed now to make it more saleable with a 3 month waiting list.
