    Hi just wondering is the battery needed for these fobs a CR2032 battery?

    TIA

    I think it’s supposed to be a CR 2025. That’s what’s in my Octavia anyway.
    The CR3032 will fit though but it’s tight.

    Yeah, 2025.

    Be careful of brands with them though, those keyfobs are partial to a battery nearly every year. You do see people fitting budget brand batterys and they literally only last a week or two. Get a good brand one and it will last better.

    2025 get a Duracell one so it'll last, don't put cheap ****e ones in it.

    Agreed, and the cheap ones just go without warning too, which the proper ones don’t!

    I’ve put a 2032 in mine, it has 40% more capacity than a 2025 so should last a good while.

    You'd get the batterys anywhere but dealers do Panasonic ones for €4.

    C = Lithium
    R = Round
    20 = 20mm Diameter
    25 = 2.5mm Thickness

    Sometimes a -32 (3.2mm) battery will fit in place of a -25, but oftentimes not. If you want to used the thicker one, test if the key will actually close first, and not be putting any stress on the PCB when doing so.

    In this particular case there’s a cage that the battery sits in that’s separate to the PCB

    But yeah, wouldn’t work in every case!
