stairs - laminate or vinyl

    Hi,

We moved into a new build in Galway with a pine stairs ready for carpet. However due to my allergies carpet isn't an option and I researched other options like laminate or vinyl on the steps. Both my hubby and I are not great in DIY but I have no idea what tradesman I need to contact for this. Would a carpenter do this kind of work or am I looking for some other profession?

Also, anyone any experience with the quickstep solution?

    Thanks,
    Joanne

    hi OP

We went to an independent flooring supplier (FWIW Westside carpets) they supplied and fitted laminate and vinyl throughout. They did a very tidy job too.

We did the whole house, room by room as we decorated and they matched in or did the join strip as needed.

Thanks for the info, will call a couple of supply shops and ask them if they fit the laminate or vinyl too :)

We took their advice on any tricky bits, and ended up putting vinyl in 3 rooms and corlean (not sure of spelling) in living room, study and kitchen. Very pleased with it. Its a far superior job to mine and the FiL efforts 10 years earlier.

    All the best.
