I like those wheels on it. My jaw dropped when I saw it. Had to do a u turn and park behind it so I could snap a few photos, I’ve never seen one in the wild before.

great memories, there premises were like a warehouse but they were like the Beshoffs/ lewis motors of their day - looked forward to sunday business post to see what they had got in stock - they later had a 1993 silver NSX - Des Cullen cars had that car too .

It might have well been a Harrier jump jet back in 1992. Pic from the front in Lambe and O Connor.

There was something about the place . The low rent premises added to its appeal

I posted here a while back when I seen a Bentley parked outside my neighbours. Just a reminder, for whoever didn’t see it:

Well it appears they have traded up (or down?). Spotted this outside the house today:

    IMG_3204.jpeg IMG_3205.jpeg

From speaking to them, I they said it’s their sons - lucky fella!

Fairly surprised to see these lux cars, take it we live in a modest ex-council estate. All houses are the standard 3-4 bed semi-D’s.

Either way, happy for the lad as long as I keep getting to see them!

Would this be a Ferrari 488? Any idea of the cost on one of those?

Looks like a 488. Bit incongruous seeing cars like that in ordinary suburban areas right enough.

As for the value. Charles Hurst have a 488 convertible asking price €202,464. You'd have to add the VRT for ROI. Possibly take off a bit for a coupe. The whole VRT calculation arena is a bit of a minefield but can't see you getting out for less than €250k. Someone more knowledgeable might be able to provide a better estimate.

    Never saw one b4

^ honestly don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh either. Can't remember the last time I saw an ordinary Audi Coupe of that era let alone a Quattro.

Thought that . Say with cars like that they have to be garaged at night ?

    M2 now with 480bhp.

👌👌. It’s mad how 480bhp now feels like a perfectly acceptable amount of power in a daily driver car :)

Is it just me, or does this, for probably €115/120k, make a €50k low mileage 2018 LCI M2 with 380bhp seem like an absolute bargain - most M2’s seem to have been very well looked after (bought by people who like a top spec golf gti, but had a bit more money to spend!)

And with a Bootmod3 remap it'll produce north of 600bhp

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 925 ✭✭✭mazdamiatamx5

Yeah it's crazy. I'm old enough to remember reading a long since defunct mag called Performance Car in the early 1990s (Jeremy Clarkson used to write for it, he wasn't very well known in those days) and one of their writers was explaining his criteria for his choices of performance car of the year in 1991 or whatever, he mentioned in passing that one of his criteria was he expected 200bhp at a minimum. Which to me seemed a lot. The 1990 Porsche Carrera for example was rated at 247. The BMW M5 of that era was 311bhp, which was huge at the time.

that was one of the points when this model came out, the price jumped an awful lot and the previous M2 was still such a brilliant buy. It’s not long since I drove the new M5 and this is head and shoulders the M car to buy now if you’re buying new and want something that is not as cuddly as the new M5.

Saw an MG cyperstar sports car look fantastic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,486 ✭✭✭tc20

Saw this on the M50 the other day.

I reckon i have seen more of the new model M5s on the road in the last couple of weeks than of all versions in the past year or two. This is the first one though in a decent colour - it looked menacing in black even trundling along in traffic.

@barneygumble posted the same one in the 251 reg thread recently.
