Hi, I'm currently looking to trade in my Peugeot 208 with 90000kms on the clock it's a 161. I am looking to change it for a Ford fiesta or similar. I just don't love it and think I'd like the change. I'm not too bothered about going up in years but I am wondering what roughly trade in value shoul I expect from my own car. Any opinions appreciated as I haven't a clue about cars. Thank you..

A good guide is about 60-65% of the price the same car would sell at a dealer. However it's important that the car you are trading in against is at a comparable price to others, no point in them having an over inflated price to then make it seem they are giving you a good trade in deal.

Maybe worth €6500-€7k going by Donedeal dealer prices.

Thanks a mill for the reply. I'm just trying not to look like a complete fool going into car dealers.

Focus on the cost to change price rather than what they value your trade-in at as their car could be the most expensive of it's type which allows them more room to inflate the trade-in value of your current car. Getting a high figure for your trade-in doesn't mean your getting the best deal. The only figure that matters is how much they want from you with your car for theirs. You will need to price the exact same type car from a few dealers to work out the best cost to change price.
