Premises Not Being Used In Line With Planning Permission

    Folks,

A bit of advice please... a neighbor of mine, who I do not know from adam..a relatively new arrival to the road, sought and was granted planning permission to build a three bedroom residential dwelling on their rather large side garden, a corner house.

Not interfering with me or so I thought, I left them to it. It has now become apparent that since it was built the purpose of this building is not residential at all. As up until about 8pm, there are multiple comings and goings with associated traffic, parking arseways both sides of a quiet reasonably narrow residential road. Tonight a fire engine wouldn’t have made it, in fact an ambulance wouldn’t my car just about did with inches to spare and inches spare or centimeters to get a turn into my driveway. Twice in the last ten days my driveway was partially blocked by the same vehicle too.

On googling the address it turns out it is listed as a language school, with photos of the students etc, website and everything. Checks out as after 8pm, the place is in darkness, nobody staying or living.

My concern is the traffic and parking mainly, it’s dangerous, inconvenient , unsafe. I’m having to negotiate my way in at a crawl. Also tonight there was a car across the road parked ON a green area that is carefully tended by the kids of the families involved in the residents association.

What would the most appropriate recourse be here. I’m concerned that as winter draws in it’s going to get more difficult to safely negotiate my way home through the vehicle jungle in poor visibility.

I’ve no problem with rules and regs being bent but this is somewhat a two fingered salute to us the residents. Always been a great nice quiet area, but a bit of a poxy newbie making things difficult and unsafe isn’t welcome.

    Any opinions or advice welcome.

Report to the planning enforcement section.
The outcome of that will fix the parking issue.

You could also report to the local fire prevention section as it’s a business which may not have a fire cert and or compliance with the fire services act.

Thanks Gumbo, think I’ll have to do just that, thanks.
