Local tyre places have these tyres in stock for a 2014 Passat.
Hancooks and Best drive are €120, Falkens are €110, any recommendations?

    Hankook Ventus €104 fitted
Good year Eagle F1 €106 fitted
    Dunlop Sport Max €108 fitted

The Good Years are the pick of the bunch here.

Blackcircles.ie - only thing is they have no affiliated garage in Cavan. Plenty closer to Dublin though.

Out of what you’ve mentioned I’d probably go the Hankooks. Best Drive are made by Continental. We use them on our vans and they’re grand.

The Good Years are worth going out of your way for IMO.

    envious,

im looking for 4 tyres for a 2016 Mondeo, 235/45/18 and you may as well add another €40/50 per corner for those brands.

Im switching between oponeo, Blackcircles Ire and the UK site to try and come up with the most reasonable price.

I wonder what does some garages charge here for fitting if i bought on-line. i see that using black circles ireland, and having them fitted in a partner garage, that garage can have a wheel alignment charge of €60. so need to be careful there.

over the years i always used modern tyres, and popped over the boarder for my bridgestone or in recent yrs Kumo HS51 to be precise. , the Kumo PS71 for this size isnt getting good reviews. at 105GBP fitted per tyre its appealing, but having second thoughts.

with this size a good Tyre at a reasonable price is the Bridgestone Turanza T005.
    Irel Blackcircles €659 all in
    UK Blackcircles €619
4 deleivered from oponeo €492, add Fitting and wheel alignment.

would a garage fit tyres for me, and whats the cost

I bought two Hankook tyres from from tyreleader.ie and getting fitted in tyreland finglas for 50. they always charge a bit more when they don't get the commission on the sale but I'm still saving about 40 quid

Sorry Id the 35/45 the wrong way around:rolleyes:. However if you look at the PZero PZ4s.
Im a Ford driver, Ive gone through Michellins/Goodyears in previous yrs and the PZ4s I feel give an all round better account of themselves if you want a premium name added to list

I don’t see a list of their affiliated garages on their website and putting in my eircode is no help.
Have they a garage in Kells or Navan?

Just bought 2 tyres for the Superb from Camskill, €127 for 2 delivered plus €15 a corner fitted locally. Main priority was a super quiet tyre which these are. Have them on the car and they are nearly shot after 3 years and 60,000km.

Website is a dose. There’s loads down my way in the Midwest but not so much in the east. There’s a place in Naas but midlands seems to be a total black spot for them

I just bought 2 fronts for my A6 today, Lassa Driveway Sports, 245/45/18 for €145+VAT fitted per tyre.

Had them on an e60 and an f10 before and always found them great. Bridgestone family of tyres, cant fault them in the past anyway.

That's not bad. I usually pay 96 for Dunlops in that size (plus fitting etc.).

Nokian powerproof are €85 on openo in that size.

They seem to be a very good tyre for the money.

    Hi,

I'm looking at getting tyres replaced and after reading this thread I checked out blackcircles.ie and saw these Hankook Ventus Prime 3 for €92 fitted.

Are these a good tire and is this a good price? Also where do they fit them, do they come out to you or do you have to bring them to a local garage?

    Cheers.

    From their site:
Tyres are delivered to your local garage in time for the fitting appointment you selected. As your tyres, including fitting, is paid for at the time of your order you have nothing to pay for on the day.

Good luck trying to get any of that information out of them. Their "customer service" is something else, takes them a week to reply to a query with some dumb reply and the location of the garages they use seems to be a closely guarded secret.

Recommendations for a good wet weather tyre? Dry roads could be considered a luxury here in the west! Currently have Nexen N'Fera SU1 on, leaning towards the newer N'Fera Sport, reviews seem positive. Staggered fitment on my car from factory, 225/40/18 front and 255/40/18 rear. Those wider rears are really jacking up the price!

Uniroyal rainsports are great but they wear quicker I found

Nokian powerproof look to be getting very good reviews for the wet.

    Average wear rate scores.

Also worth noting 245 tyres would fit grand on an 8.5j rim if that's what is on the rear and they can be a good bit cheaper.
