What's a realistic timeframe to get my licence?

I got my provisional license in February and started doing lessons in July. I have done 6 lessons so far. My dad has gone driving with me for 2 hours a week (around half an hour each time) and will continue to do so. Would it be unrealistic for me to do the test in 3 or 4 months? Should I be waiting until next summer? What's a normal timeframe?

Normal timeframe is minimum 6 months, but probably 12 months at this stage to be honest with the reduction in daily tests and test waiting time. Once you get the lessons done, get your test application in asap to get yourself on the list anyway.

First-time learner permit holders (in certain categories) must wait six months after the date of issue of the particular licence category before they can sit their driving test.

Everyone is different but if you started learning from scratch in February and are getting enough practice each week, I would say that realistically youre looking at 8 months to a year. If you feel youre ready after your 12 lessons do a pre test and see how you get on.

Thanks guys. I only really started learning in early July. Before then I had just learned how to start the car and use the clutch/ brake etc. I live in a rural area so I might be able to get a test quicker than others (I hope).
